i blame my neighbours. recently they've been keeping rubbish in their back garden for some reason, the bags keep piling up each week. there is about 20 bags out there right now, and i've started noticing rats hanging around there and coming into my garden. one day i'm going to take them to court.

they're ruining this clean area! :crying:

I think it would be worth phoning your local council , they will sort it out for you or they used to anyway.

that is exactly what i am going to do.

(i hate my neighbours)

No need to be worried about it. Don't handle it with bear hands, pick it up (or shovel as jassy suggest, if it is easier) and put it in a plastic bag, and then the bin bag. All the best with that. It probably froze to death, poor thing.

Too many urban myths about rats. They don't have worse infections tahn any other animal, or they would all be dead.

Now if it was a Bernard Matthews turkey on your drive.............

I feel so much better now wisel... A rat is the only creature i will go out of my way to kill.

Rats are of particular public health importance because of their close association with humans, of the many diseases caused by rodents and rats in particular, the most infamous is the plague. This is caused by a bacteria transmitted to man from rats by the rat flea. The most common rodent-borne disease to man today is Weils disease or Leptospirosis. In random tests up to 50% of the population have been identified as carriers of this potentially fatal disease. It is spread by bacterium passed in the rat's urine, which is most commonly transmitted to humans by contact with contaminated water, or moist undergrowth and soil. The excreted organism enters the human body through cuts and abrasions.

Other diseases of practical significance in this country are Salmonellosis caused through contaminated food and drink by rodent excreta or urine. Salmonellosis is a type of food poisoning and symptoms can include acute gastro-enteritis accompanied by headache, fever and vomiting. Parasites carried and transmitted by rodents include ringworm, mites, nematodes, tapeworm, ticks and fleas.

But human beings carry many more contagious and/or fatal diseases than rats do....

Oh the cruel hand of cards that fate dealt this poor creature.

i think there is a dead rat in my driveway...well i don't know what else it could be. it is covered in snow.

i want to get rid of it! what do i do??? oh please help, this is no time for jokes, because i am serious.

(well it looks like a dead rat, just can't see the head, and can't make out what else it could be). feed.back  :(

LMAO!

either

1. eat it for dinner (as Zambo suggested) :ph43r:

or

2. send it to a Mr R. Lerner with a letter saying "go away or the St. Andrew's gypsies will turn you into one of these!" :D
